On October 12, 2011, Canada Gazette (Part II) officially issued the amendment 11 of the "product energy efficiency directive", which came into effect on April 12, 2012.
 
Main contents of NRCan certification
 
The requirements and control scope of "minimum energy efficiency standards" for the following 7 categories of products have been enhanced:
 
Electric motor;
 
Domestic gas fired boiler;
 
Domestic kerosene boiler;
 
Dry type transformer;
 
Large scale air conditioning facilities and heat pump;
 
Commercial integrated refrigerator;
 
Incandescent lamp with reflector;
 
New requirements for the following minimum energy efficiency standards and reporting items are proposed:
 
Standby energy consumption of electronic products
 
-Audio products
 
-TV, monitor, etc
 
-Video playing Products
 
External power supply
 
Digital TV adapter
 
Electric boiler
 
Single stereo air conditioning and heat pump
 
Mandatory directives for producers and importers
 
All producers and importers must comply with the directive to ensure that the products produced and imported meet the minimum energy efficiency standards required by the directive. Manufacturers and importers shall pass the test conducted by the recognized third-party certification body to obtain the compliance energy efficiency report and certificate.
 
NRCan and ERP, gems, CEC and other energy efficiency requirements are similar. However, in order to control the most stringent energy efficiency requirements, NRCan needs to inspect the factory, and there is a certificate after the application, and there are relevant annual fees. The application is basically based on a single model
