rom January 1, 2019, Saudi Arabia will issue saber certification and Saleem certification plan to be implemented, saber certification and SASO certification will be parallel for a period of time, the current parallel time is 6 months.
The new Saudi certification program Saleem will replace the current Saudi conformity assessment program (SASO COC) program and will operate through the new Sabre system, a SASO electronic service created to facilitate the process of entering goods and products into the Saudi market.
1. Saleem is a new evaluation project on conformity certification of products and batches of goods going to Saudi Arabia.
2. Saleem project has launched a new online application system called "Saber".
3. Saber is an online network system tool launched by Saudi Arabia Bureau of standards, which is used to register, issue and obtain COC certificate.
4. In saber certification, products will be classified into high medium low according to risk categories. According to different risk categories, different conformity inspection procedures will be adopted and implemented by recognized institutions.

The Saleem certification program will be based on two different certification processes:
1. Type approval certificate (valid for three years) and shipment Certificate (to be issued for each shipment, similar to the current SASO COC).
2. Requirements for type approval. Conformity certificate and registration certificate in Sabre certification system will be different according to the risk level of products.

Sabre certification covers both regulated and unregulated products:

The products registered in sabre are all products sold in Saudi Arabia. Whether imported or produced locally, the products will be prohibited from entering Saudi Arabia if no certificate of conformity is issued. Raw materials do not need to be registered and are considered unregulated.
