GS certification in Germany

Date of issue:2020-05-13

GS means "geprufte Sicherheit" in German and also means "German safety". GS certification is based on the German product safety law (GPGs), which is a voluntary certification according to the European Union unified standard EN or German industrial standard DIN. It is a recognized German safety certification mark in the European market.

1. GS mark is a safety certification mark issued by TUV, VDE and other institutions authorized by the German Ministry of labor.

GS sign is a safety sign accepted by European customers. Usually GS certification product sales unit price is higher and more popular!

2. According to the CE regulation of the European community, the "Low Voltage Directive (LVD)" is regulated on January 1, 1997. The GS already contains all the requirements of the low voltage directive (LVD). Therefore, after obtaining the GS mark, TUV will issue the CE certificate (COC) of LVD free of charge. The certificates of TUV South Germany group and TUV Rheinland after 1997 include LVD Certificate in GS certificate. The manufacturer applied for GS and obtained LVD certificate.

3. GS certification requirements for products and documents: - products must pass the type test of European safety standards. -The product structure should meet the standard requirements. -The instruction manual (German, English) should meet the standard. -For the English documents such as structure diagram, circuit diagram and parts list prepared according to TUV requirements, the product test will be carried out according to the parameters provided in these documents.

4. GS certification has strict requirements for the quality assurance system of the factory, and the factory should be reviewed and inspected annually: - when the factory is required to ship in batches, it is required to establish its own quality assurance system according to ISO9000 system standard. The factory should at least have its own quality control system, quality records and other documents and sufficient production and inspection capacity. -Before the GS certificate is issued, the GS certificate will be issued only after the new factory has passed the examination. -After the certificate is issued, the factory shall be reviewed at least once a year. No matter how many TUV marks the factory applies for, the factory review only needs one time
