The application of Inmetro logo can be divided into two categories, compulsory and voluntary, which are issued by certification authority (CB). In addition, the Brazilian government also stipulates that some products should be provided with energy efficiency labels (smiley face marks), which are directly issued by Inmetro, and certification bodies are not involved
Mandatory products:
1. Steel pipe
2. Cast iron pipe accessories
3. Steel wire rope
4. Automobile and motorcycle tire, wheel, battery, shock absorber, fuel pump, horn, engine piston, piston ring, piston pin, snap ring, safety glass lamp auto parts
5. Active medical devices
6. Circuit breaker
7. Live equipment used in explosive environment (explosion proof certification)
8. Related equipment of gas system (pressure reducing valve and rubber tube)
9. Switch, plug and socket
10. Electronic ballast
11. Wires and cables
12. Voltage regulator
13. Household appliances
14. IT equipment
Voluntary products
1. Industrial valves
2. Building materials, etc
Energy efficiency label
1. Three motor
2. Photovoltaic modules, etc
In nmetro certification, the most widely used certification mode is the international common certification mode 5, which includes the test of the product itself and the audit of the factory quality management system. At the same time, the mode also requires preliminary examination and supervision audit. The specific process is as follows:
First trial:
Analysis of product technical documents
Define the product family and determine the test product model
Initial factory audit
Sampling)
Laboratory assessment (if applicable)
Witness test (if applicable)
Importer audit
Certification process review
Issue certificate
Follow up supervision and audit:
According to Brazilian law, different products have different supervision and audit cycle, which is usually 6 / 9 / 12 months. The process is as follows:
Importer audit
sampling
Factory audit
Laboratory assessment (if applicable) witness test (if applicable) importer audit certification process review
Update certificate
matters needing attention:
1. In Brazil, the plug must comply with the standard NBR 14136, NBR nm 60884-1. Since January 1, 2009, NEMA plug was officially eliminated;
2. If it is CB report of circuit breaker products issued by other laboratories, some tests must be added (the scheme is specified by Brazil);
3. For miniature circuit breaker, i2t curve under each current must be submitted before certification;
4. LCIE test report and cig023 report can be directly transferred to Inmetro certificate;
