European red certification

Introduction to red certification

1) The 999 / 5 / EC Directive has been implemented for many years, and many places can not satisfy the existing products. As a matter of fact, the European Union started drafting new directive as early as 2007, but the progress was not so fast. Therefore, it submitted another draft to the European Commission in 2011. Finally, on May 22, 201, the European Union officially announced the new version of Wireless Equipment Directive red 2014 / 53 / EU, which was written based on the new EU CE framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC 2014 / 53 / EU replaces the original EU Radio Equipment Directive R & tte-d 1999 / 5 / EC. There will be a two-year transition period from the official announcement of the new EU directive and its entry into force. From June 13, 2016, the original R & TTE Directive 1999 / 5 / EC will be repealed, and the products evaluated according to the old directive can continue to be sold until June 13, 2017. After June 1, 2007, only wireless devices evaluated according to the new red 2014 / 53 / EU will be allowed to be sold in the EU market. The purpose of the new directive is to clarify the scope of spectrum use, improve the effectiveness of spectrum use, and make it more convenient for Member States to implement regulations and conduct market monitoring.

Before wireless products can be legally sold in EU countries, they must be tested and approved according to the red directive, and they must also have CE mark. Wireless remote control products must meet the requirements of red directive red 2014 / 53 / EU.

Scope of red certification

1) Short distance wireless remote control products (SRD), such as remote control toy car, remote alarm system, remote doorbell, remote switch, remote mouse, keyboard, etc

2) Professional radio remote control products (PMR), such as professional wireless walkie talkie, wireless microphone, etc

3) . radiophone CTO, CT1, CT1;

4) . ISDN (digital telephone products);

5) . DECT (enhanced digital radiophone);

6) Mobile phone GSM, CDMA test

7) Bluetooth products, such as Bluetooth headset;

8) . inductive data transmission equipment with operating frequency less than 9 kHz;

9) . radio broadcasting receiver equipment;

Difference between red and old R & TTE

1) . red products only include wireless communication and wireless identification equipment (such as RFID, radar, mobile detection, etc.). If RF equipment is not used for communication or identification, it will be under the control of EMC directive and LVD instruction

2) The cable communication terminal equipment (TTE) has been removed, so the red instruction is only used for wireless products

3) . radio broadcasting receivers are now covered by the red directive (previously covered by EMC and LVD directives);

4) The lower limit of command coverage frequency has been cancelled (previously the control starting frequency of R & TTE was 9 kHz), while the upper limit was still 3000 GHz;

5) . the assessment opinion of the notified body has been replaced by "type inspection certificate"

6) The manufacturer may use the CE mark with the notification body number (full quality assurance - type H) only after its quality system has been evaluated by the notified body

7) The requirement for class II equipment to notify national spectrum agencies is no longer required

8) The identification (warning number) of class II equipment is no longer required, but the warning that is restricted to use in some countries still needs to appear on the product packaging

9) It is no longer necessary to show the CE mark in the user's manual, but the frequency band and transmission power used by the radio frequency must be indicated in the manual

10) . kits for personal assessment are no longer regulated (i.e. no red certification required);

11) The new Directive requires the use of uniform chargers

12) . the address and contact information of the manufacturer and the importer must appear on the equipment, and when the equipment is too small, it can appear in the user's manual

In particular, you will have to consider the changes of your new products and new products in the future, such as the design of new products and new products in the future.

According to the new EU framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC, the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, distributors and EU representatives are also clearly defined in the red directive. The name and contact address of the manufacturer and the importer must be marked on the product or on the accompanying instructions.

Red test items

1) . electromagnetic compatibility test (EMC test);

2) Safety test LVD (in the new directive, this test is also required for RF products with battery input);

3) Radio communication equipment test (RF test) according to European ETSI standard

4) . notification of permissible spectrum in Europe

5) . CTR (TBR) test

6) Electrical safety and health protection test (SAR assessment);

Information required for red certification

1) . user manual;

2) . circuit diagram;

3) . block diagram (also called module function diagram);

4) . circuit diagram (PCB layout);

5) . PCB placement;

6) Operation description (explanation of block diagram);

7) . BOM list;

8) . label (label);

9) . antenna specification (or antenna gain diagram);

10) . charger LVD report;

11) . fixed frequency software (also known as fixed frequency program. It enables the transmitter module to transmit continuously at a certain frequency point. Generally, BT and WiFi must provide it).
