Uganda restarted product conformity certification on June 1, 2013 - Uganda pre export verification of conformity (PVOC)

Why does Uganda need PVOC certification?

In order to ensure the quality and safety of imported products and avoid harm to Ugandan consumers, the Ugandan Bureau of standards has implemented a series of guidelines called pre export product conformity certification program (PVOC) since June 2010, The project has been suspended. The implementation of product conformity certification has been restarted since June 1, 2013. It has been confirmed that the implementation of product conformity certification has been started again since June 1, 2013, and the export guidance and fee information previously issued are still used. All information on the application for conformity certification of Ugandan products can be found in the exporter's Guide.

A certificate of compliance is required to ensure that the product is successfully cleared for import in Uganda. SGS is an inspection agency authorized by the Uganda Bureau of standards, which can issue this certificate of compliance.
