IC is the abbreviation of industry   Canada, the Ministry of industry of Canada. As a government agency, IC regulates the testing standards of analog and digital terminal equipment, is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market, and stipulates that imported electronic products must pass the relevant EMC certification. Its products are mainly radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, engineering and medical equipment, etc. similar to the FCC of the United States, IC currently only limits electromagnetic interference.

 

 

 

 

There are two main ways of IC certification

The necessity of IC certification

 

 

 

IC certification is the pass for electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market. Only through the relevant EMC certification can they enter the Canadian market for sales, which is a guarantee of quality and is more likely to win the favor of customers.

（1） The manufacturer or agent makes an oral or written preliminary application to the certification company.

 

 

 

（2） The applicant shall fill in the application form, send the application form, product instruction and technical documents to the certification company, and provide a prototype if necessary.

 

 

 

（3） Certification company to draw up a plan and quote.

 

 

 

（4） The applicant confirms the offer, signs back the quotation, and sends the samples and relevant technical documents to the certification company.

 

 

 

（5） The applicant shall provide technical documents.

 

 

 

（6） The certification company issues a charge notice to the applicant, and the applicant prepays the certification fee according to the charge notice.

 

 

 

（7） The certification company shall review the technical documents and organize relevant certification activities.

 

 

 

（8） If the technical documents are not perfect or the specified language is not used, the certification company will inform the applicant for improvement.

 

 

 

（9） If the test fails, the certification company will inform the applicant in time and allow the applicant to improve the product according to the decision whether to suspend the project or not. The applicant shall modify the technical data in the original application so as to reflect the actual situation after the change.

 

 

 

（10） For the rectification costs involved in items 9 and 10 of this page, the certification company will issue a supplementary charge notice to the applicant.

 

 

 

（11） The applicant shall pay the rectification fee according to the supplementary charge notice.

 

 

 

（12） The certification company shall provide the applicant with test reports or technical documents and certificates.
